OUR PLAN
Guided by the vision of Pastor Roy C. Blakeley, Modesto Christian School opened its elementary program in 1962. MCS and Neighborhood Church continue to share the vision initiated by Pastor Blakeley. The school has grown steadily and currently serves over 800 students on two campuses. MCS exists to graduate students who are academic achievers, spiritually equipped Christians, effective communicators, critical thinkers and community contributors. The school is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the Association of Christian Schools International and the National Institute for Learning Disabilities.
Challenges
Modesto Christian School has identified five major objectives in achieving its goal of becoming the premier college preparatory school in the Central Valley. These objectives will allow MCS to make a greater impact upon the lives of children, families and the community.
• Centralize MCS students, faculty, staff, administration and facilities on
one campus
• Raise teacher compensation to a level competitive with area public schools
• Expand the range of course offerings within the performing arts department
• Provide athletic facilities to meet the demand of K-12 boys and girls
• Expand course offerings in educational technology
