The campaign is a strategic, comprehensive plan for making Modesto Christian School the premier college preparatory school in the Central Valley. This plan includes the highest quality academic and athletic facilities, expansion of fine arts and technology programs, and endowments for financial aid and teacher compensation. This vision is founded upon our long-standing commitment to Christian values and training.
How much is this Campaign going to cost?
The campaign consists of two phases, with a total projected cost of $24,000,000. Phase One includes $12,000,000 of this total.
What is included in Phase One of the Campaign?
Phase One puts the “Above and Beyond” vision in motion with the construction of a new 74,000 square foot facility. This facility features academic classrooms, a fine arts auditorium, and a collegiate gymnasium.
What is included in Phase Two of the Campaign?
Phase Two significantly expands the existing teacher endowment fund, allowing MCS to attract and retain the finest teachers. It also includes a significant expansion of the financial aid fund, giving qualified families the opportunity to attend MCS. Major improvements to the football stadium, the building of new soccer and softball fields and an increase in the availability of technology campus-wide are also significant components.
What is the timeframe for this campaign?
The solicitation phase of the campaign will take approximately one year. Typically, pledge commitments will be received over a period of three years. The current goal for occupying the new facilities is the Fall of 2007.
Who is going to build the building?
Huff Construction of Modesto, CA, will serve as the general contractor for this project.
If I give money today, where will it go and how do I know that it will be spent for the purpose that it was given?
All funds will be placed directly into the “Above and Beyond” campaign account and will be carefully monitored and distributed according to plan by the Board of Directors.
Is the school prepared to accept gifts other than “cash” such as stock, real-estate, gifts-in-kind, etc.?
The school is prepared to accept a variety of gifts. Donors are advised to consult their personal financial advisors with regard to gift forms that may take advantage of specific tax and contribution rules. Modesto Christian School retains legal and financial counsel to manage its interests related to non cash gifts.
